MY FAVORITE MOVIE

MY FAVORITE MOVIE

A favorite book, a favorite band, a favorite movie, or anything that involves favoritism or to prefer something it is so difficult to me. I cannot choose between those thing when there are a lot of good of these things.

Today I am going to talk about a movie, I do not think is my favorite but I certainly like it a lot, Forrest Gump.

Forrest Gump tells the story of a not very clever man, that has an extraordinary life with a lot of unbelievable experiences. The movie starts with Tom Hanks as Forrest, waiting at the bus stop and telling his life story to the people that sits next to him. It all started when he was a kid, he had many problems in his childhood but his mother always supported him, he could not walk good, he was bullyed at school, he was not admitted at school because of his low intelligence and he had no friends until he met Jenny, a girl that would be his best friend for the rest of his life.

Forrest grow up and did a lot of things, some of them great and other a little sad. He was an american football player and was the best, he went to the Vietnam war and saw his best friend died, he met two USA presidents and then dedicated to be a ping pong player, also was the best. And how to forget that he started a schrimp company, ''BubbaGump'', before marrying Jenny and having a child.

He sadly saw his loved ones died but he stayed strong, he had a son to take care of, a smart kid that made him very proud.

WORKSHOP PROYECT

WORKSHOP PROYECT

''Social housing for inmigrants in barrio Huemul'', that was the name of the last proyect I did in my workshop, it started in july and ended last week on thursday, But it did not started just designing a house from nothing, it was all a very long process.

At the very beggining, we split in groups of three to four. Each one of the groups received the name of a specific house around the world, and then we had to analyze it, its location, features and more. We had to define three strong concepts that were present in the house, develop an abstract model with that and then expose it all. Of course having a lot of corrections.

After that, in the same groups we went to barrio Huemul, an heritage neighborhood located in Franklin, to analyse it, its people, important places, streets and everything we could rescue about architecture. And again we had to expose the analysis and do a lot of corrections too.

Once all of this was submitted, we had to work alone, to start analysing an especific neighborhood's piece of land that was given by the teachers, and make a design of a house for inmigrants. But the important thing was that we had to mix the neighborhood analyse, the land analyse and one of the strong concepts of the first house we work with.

The corrections every week kept us awake many nights, it takes a long time to go to a place, searching everywhere to analyse and then start designing a proyect, that almost always is wrong and you have to start all over again.

CELEBRATION

CELEBRATION

When it comes to celebrations, I think I can only remember one that was special, a 18's holiday that I spent with my ex girlfriend's family.

I do not remember if it was at 2017 or 2018, but the thing is that I was at my house, there were some friends of my parents with his family, I really do not like to be with them, and is really boring because they only talk between them and do their things, I must emphasize that I really don't like their friend's personalities, and when they are with my parents, they are even more disgusting, but I won't talk about that details.

I was bored as hell and suddenly I received a miracle, a message from my girlfriend back then, my mother in law invited me to spent the day with them. So I told my parents I was going out.

In less of five minutes I was already in my girlfriend family's house, it was the house of his grandfather, that is really close to mine, in Bucalemu, a town between San Felipe and Los Andes.

I really liked her family, her grandfather, her parents, her sister, aunts, cousins and everyone, they were so nice. I already known them so I knew I would feel good there.

We talked, played games, ate, and the best thing is that you really feel comfortable there, they are lovely persons, and they are always taking care of you. They use to show me how much they like me, and I really liked them too, I always felt loved with all of them.

FREE POST

I think a free post seems easier, but is the most difficult. You have to think not only in how to write it, but also about what to write. But well, I think I will talk about something I really like and enjoy, music.

The first memories that I had about music, are when I was like four or five years old, I remember I used to love classical music. My parents always heard me hum along, so they put the songs and I enjoyed it.

A song that it really motivated me to play music was ''ride of the valkyries'' by Wagner, so when I was like six or seven years old, for a christmas my parents gave me a violin. I was so excited, I just wanted to learn how to play, but we never found a teacher in my town and then I never learnt.

When I was seven years old, I had to learn flute at my music class at school, and never thought I could do it, but then I noticed that it was easy for me, I always learnt faster than my classmates in the music area, and as my parents saw that I really liked it, at the age of nine, they took me to a music academy that is was new in the city, to learn electric guitar. I was so excited!

As I started learning theory and playing guitar, my teacher and my parents supported me saying always that I was very talented, and that by my age, I was learning very fast, and even faster than other people. That motivated me until today to learn many other instruments.

Nowadays I don't believe in talent, I see recordings of me playing and singing when I was about ten years old, and I was terrible at it, I sang horrible and my playing didn't even sound right jaja, but the support that I received made me practice and practice until I really improved my skills. Now I can say that is all about the effort.

NATIONAL HOLIDAYS

September 18th, that is the date of the first government meeting, and I actually never understood why we celebrate that, always thought we should conmemorate the independence day, but whatever.

It is nice to have a rest in the middle of the semester, and spend it in whathever you want, to recharge batteries.

By this week I will go to the beach with my family, we will spent the days resting, eating and going to the fondas.

I have never considered myself a nationalistic person, but it is true that when I hear cueca, when I see typical dancing or games and when I see people happy celebrating their common culture, it is a nice feeling, I cannot help but feeling identified.

But not everything is happiness and joy, sadly these holidays are the the days with the major quantity of traffic accidents in the year. People does not get use to be responsible when they drink alcohol, and unfortunately that takes away many lifes.

So to you all who are reading this, please take care of yourselves, if you are gonna drink, do not drive, and if you know about someone who is going to drive drunk, tell them to be responsible.

A Job You Would Like To Have

I have always loved art in all his forms, since literature to photography, since music to sculpture. That is what had brought me here, to study architecture at Universidad de Chile, a career that I think involve all of the arts in a certain way.

I think my dream would be living by arts, not only as an architect but a musician too, maybe a painter or even an actor. Just bring to life all of the crazy projects that are in my mind, as an artist.

It sounds a little ambitious I think, but I know that if I organize my time well I will be able to do it.

Many people underestimate the arts, they think that is not important or that anyone can do it, but art is important for mental health, for expressing yourself, even if you are the art creator or the one who is witnessing art. And the reality is that a lot of effort is required, I do not believe in talent, I think you get things by your practice and constancy, and of course, learning everyday to improve your skills.

To think in inspiring people, it inspires myself. That is something that gives me hope and makes me just wanna keep going.

I do not pretend to be known or famous, I just want to inspire the people who want to be inspired and make happier the people who need to be happier.

Greatest Chilean

Welcome you all, today I am going to talk about an outstanding person, a woman that put a line between past and present in South America. She certainly did great stuff but sadly is not as recognised as she deserves. I am talking about Eloisa Diaz.

She was born in 1866 and died in 1950 at the age of 84, her parents were Carmela Inzunza and Eulogio Diaz.

She was the first woman studying medicine and the first in becoming a doctor too. She postulated to Universidad de Chile medicine school in 1880, when she was only 15 years old, and by the time, thinking about a woman studying at a university was insane, but she kept fighting, proving that she and all women deserve equal rights.

She got over all prejudgement, and once being a doctor, she started to work at Hospital San Borja.

She started a timeline full of women fighting for her rights, and that is something that certainly has helped inspire today's women fight for not only rights but equal respect overall.

If I had the chance to meet her, I would like to ask her what inspired her to study, what inspired her to do what she did, surely it was not easy. What is like to be studying while being the only woman and what helped her to go on no matter the discrimination she received. Maybe also ask her if she would be proud of what she reached for  women and all that comes for equal rights in future.
